Greetings from Rügen Island, East Germany Former DDR

Hi All

Yesterday I arrived at probably one of the most interesting islands of East Germany, which has many former WWII & Former DDR structures intact.

I also have family living here, they have houses to rent and also have an own Restaurant on the North West side facing West Germany and looking over the Eastern Sea.
Today I plan to make pics of the location I am at atm and we also plan to go to that 4.5KM long building the Russian built during the second world war and which was also used by the DDR to house 15.000 troops during the second world war and 11.000 civilians during the cold war. Such structures are still intact on this Island and it also houses lots of other history, in the future I certain will make a return to this island, since it houses many interesting things to relocate.

We went by a friend's place there we picked up a dog called Max, the brown white one here playing with one of his dog buddies

In their yard also stood this ultra rare to find tree, especially in Europe, 22 Metre high California Sierra Redwood:
