Nice find
The system also is very well build, I like such exotics like Socket 423 with RAMBUSAre you still searching for a SATA II PCI RAID Controller? Perhaps Highpoint RocketRAID 1740 is the one you can look for: http://www.highpoint-tech.com/USA_new/cs-series_rr1700_spec.htm
Many thanks man, I been working for about 5 years on this slow going renovation project, mainly seeking the right parts was the hardest.
It's doable, affordable and very enjoyable thing to do, even that this was my Q3A clan system back in 2001 to 2006, back then it had a poor setup, P4 1.70Ghz + 2x 128MB PC-711 @ PC-600 RDRAM from Samsung Original, performance was horrid, It had a Gainward Geforce3 Golden Sample Power Pack AGP 64MB ViVo, I still have this card, the Leadtek GeForce4 Tii-4600 was a nice upgrade but pretty much after that it went to my mother for her banking system and over the years she got a new system it went to my sister to her youngest daughter and then it returned to me since I wanted to clean it make it like brand new , and fully renovate and max upgrade it, the hunt began 5 years ago and now it's really starting to look like something I always wanted with a P4 2Ghz system.
First Gen P4 2Ghz S423 with a Thermaltake Indigo Orb, with a first gen i850 Motherboard the ASUS P4T for S423, with first gen P4 high performance memory system 4x 512MB PC-800-40ns SPD 18bit Rambus RDRAM, the LS-120 and all the other parts , it just all adds up to the perfect picture.
And what such a system would of cost in 2001 well over 5500 USD, easily!
I really want to find how how this system will perform with games that have SSE2 support, because then it will be far less crippled than with games and programs that lacked SSE2.
Probably prefer Silicon image that my friend SadTropher from 2CPU.com advised me:
"There certainly are suitable SATA II raid cards as I'm still using them in a number of my retro builds.
The ones I've got are 4-port cards based on the Silicon Image SiL3124 chipset. They're actually PCI-X cards but work equally well in a PCI 32 slot.

So yeah I am still looking for a decent Sata II Raid card, Raid 5 is a must, that Silicon Image SL1500 does fit my tastes
