  • Looking lovely there man if running win2K Pro make sure you have SP4 & RU1 for SP4 also installed then use SFFT Alpha 41 modified by ps47 & myself to get the max performance from the Snow White 6K AGP from Anthony.
This driver adds OpenGL-ES 1.2 Support and very fast D3D performance, 32 Bit Glide should also work in Unreal Engine 2.0 based games.

Most games won't support SMP, but it would of been nice if the did, but what you can do is use your slave CPU for background workloads and use the main for the games, this can be a nice advantage.

But hey if you are able to divide the workloads via that slave CPU you can save a lot of needed performance for the main CPU and the VGA card instead.
So hereby I am interested on how this setup of yours will do.
If your board has an unlocked Bios so you can OC the CPU via it's CPU multiplier, FSB & CPU Voltage then you can master it much better.
An Intel P6 based CPU at 1.8Ghz is like a 1.5Ghz K7-XP based CPU in that sense with most things, so you might have some play if those options are available.

    Here's AmigaMerlin 3.1 R1 if you wanna explore 1600x1200 x16 & x32 with SAA x8 mode :)

  • Gold Leader thank you for all the information and the driver! I'm quite busy at the moment, but I will soon test it on the Win2K....

Well if you or anyone here needs help when it comes to drivers for the 6K in NTFS Operating systems ya know where to find me, all my Napalm Prototypes I tested thoroughly, it were only the Voodoo5 5000's where of I had two preferred 98SE + UnOfficial XP 1.6 for stable operation with AmigaMerlin 2.9 & the latest Napalm drovers from x-3dfx.
Yet the 5000 PCI, 6000 AGP & 5500 PCI + DVI ran in 2K Pro & XP Pro just fine.

SFFT Alpha 41 modified by ps47 & myself was the only driver that allowed Descent 1 &2 ti run with DXX Rebirth 0.54 to 0.58.1 + DXX Retro 1.3/1.3a under 2K pr & XP Pro.
For 98SE I stuck mostly to AmigaMerlin 2.9, thanks to my past experiences, I remember such details to the spec.

  • Actually the Audigy 2 is still very close to the Soundblaster Live although it came out years later. The sound quality in games one the best you can get.

So actually nothing speak against using it.

  • To be very honest I actually never cared much when it came to date correct builds, it's kind of limiting your better possibilities and why would you do that?
Back then okay you didn't have much choice, but nowadays just widen your views.
I use parts from 1997 to 2003, this era is my favorite and the builds i made fit right in to this time frame.

The Audigy2 ZS Platinum pro has a very good DAC compared to the Live, for FALC music files & HD DVD Audio it's really a good card for games as well, EAX had come along way with the Audigy 2 ZS series of sound cards, also these cards were from 2003 not 2004.

Here's my Audig2 ZS Platinum Pro Build, the parts I used for this builds date from 1997 to 2003:

    https://dosreloaded.de/forum/index.ph…resse/?pageNo=1

    THIS! IS!! SIGNATURE!!!

    Scrap comes to life.

Now I've got around to building a Voodoo 3 calculator. My first ever with a Voodoo 3.

Some parts have been real junk, that jams me sometimes and try to save it.

Here is the result of that. A junk calculator that runs really well. :great:

The LianLi case was properly messed up, warped and crooked, the front cracked and broken, dents and scrapes.

The mainboard had torn off parts and electrolytic capacitors had leaked.

The Voodoo 3 3500 I got from Wild_Bill with exchange and repairs was also properly smashed. The TV tuner ripped off and gone, pins crooked, that special DVI socket destroyed and unusable.

The drivers didn't recognise the card, etc.... I then repaired the card in detail and installed a standard DVI socket. This was re-routed with wires to match the analogue signal and so it can now be used with a standard DVI-VGA adapter. Since I couldn't find an original cooler, I took one from any defective card and put it on the Voodoo.

The power supply is a lead-heavy Fortron ZEN Fanless, which also had fucked capacitors and came back to life after installing new ones.
