:topmodel:

  • Ah, also doch onboard VGA.

    Hardware:

    • CPU: AMD Athlon Classic 700 (Slot A)
    • CPU Kühler: Titan Majesty IV
    • Case: Inter-Tech Midi Tower
    • Mainboard: MSI K7-Pro (MS-6195)
    • RAM: 2x 256MB Infineon PC-133 CL2
    • Grafik: 3dfx Voodoo 3 3000 AGP
    • 3D Beschleuniger: 3dfx Voodoo 2 12MB SLI (Righteous 3D II)
    • NIC: Intel Pro 100 PCI
    • Sound: Aureal Vortex 2
    • HDD: Sandisk SSD 32GB
    • ODD: Random 16x DVD Rom
    • PSU: HEC P3D 300

    Foto:

  • Weswegen motzen?

    Ist doch alles gut gewählt.

    - ohne GM Board drauf? ?(

Zeitlich passt ohnehin einiges nicht zusammen, so what?

    - Windows ME

    - Windows XP

    Folgende Hardware-Komponenten sind verbaut:

    • CPU: AMD AthlonXP 3000+ (Barton), FSB333 (166MHz) (2002)
    • CPU Cooler: schwarz / silbern
    • Case: Server-Rack (schwarz)
    • PSU: Thermaltake TR2S, 500W, ATX 24-polig (schwarz) (2022)
    • Mainboard: EPoX 8K3A+ (recapped), VIA KT333, AGP 2.0 (4x), Sockel A/462, Ultra133 IDE-RAID (HighPoint HPT372), Sound VIA AC-97 (2002)
    • RAM: 3x 512MB DDR-RAM, 166MHz (schwarz)
    • Graphics: Anthony's "Snow White" Voodoo5 6000 Replika, 128/256MB VRAM, AGP 2x
    • Sound1: Creative Soundblaster Audigy EX Platinum, PCI (2000)
    • Sound2: Creative Soundblaster Audigy EX AddOn-Board, PCI (2000) mit externer Breakout-Box (schwarz)
    • LAN: Realtek 8139C, PCI (10/100MBit) (2001)
    • FDD1: Mitsumi 3.5" (schwarz) (2000)
    • FDD2: Iomega ZIP100, ATAPI (schwarz) (1997)
    • ODD: Sony DDU1612, IDE (16x DVD lesen, 40x CD lesen) (schwarz) (2003)
    • HDD1: Western Digital Caviar (WD800BB), 80GB, 7200rpm, UDMA/100 (schwarz) (Windows ME)
    • HDD2: Western Digital Caviar (WD800BB), 80GB, 7200rpm, UDMA/100 (schwarz) (Windows XP)
    • RAID-0: 2x Seagate DB35.3 (ST3160215ACE), 2x 160GB, 7200rpm, (schwarz / silbern) UDMA/100
    • Fan Control: 4x Fan Control (schwarz), CPU and Case-Cooler

  • Hey nicely done Alliance2000 this the system you referred to me at x-3dfx right :)
Very nicely done, as the sound card I would of gone for the Audigy2 ZS Platinum Pro got one myself and the sound is fantastic, also fits the 8K3A+s's timeline as it's from the 2002 a 2003 era.
Hmm why no UDMA 133 since the 8K3A+ does support UATA 133 HDD's, this will give you lots more speed.

None the less specs look decent in there :)
Did you carry out the recap or was that done by Backfire?
Also an idea is to use the AC'97 for your mic and the Sound Blaster for your headphioones & Speaker set, it's what I have done with my new gen system the Realtek ALC1200 for my mic+ headset and the speaker set on the Creative AE-5 Plus Sound card :)
Not sure if this would work with the setup you have onboard + dedicated at the same time, all I can say it's very handy to get that working.

  • Gold Leader that’s right, that’s the referred system 👍

UDMA133 HDDs would be awesome, but especially for the RAID I didn’t find a matching pair. But the speed of the HDDs it’s about80 MB/s, so UDMA100 should be fast enough, right?

I had the Audigy already and I didn’t find an Audigy 2 for a reasonable price, so as there is not that big difference I think I’m gonna keep it that way…

  • Audigy2 ZS as sound quality goes was quite a large step from the Audigy 1 yet a small improvement over the Audigy2.it could of been named Audigy3 but since it was more like a patched Audigy2 they added ZS to the name, don't even know what ZS even stands for rofl
Good sennheiser headphones and you can hear the soud difference quite well the ZS has amuch fuller sound imo, being an audiophile I can clearly hear the difference, bit not everyone can.

As the black theme goes the Audigy Platinum eX is a good fit since it's external IO drive is also black :)
as where the Audigy2 ZS Platinum Pro has a silver gray outline front panel:

I paid 48 Eur for my set roughly 60 UUSD or 100 AUSD at the time I bought it in 2019 I think it was.
it's the sound card for my AthlonXP 2200+ system the one with the Matrox Parhelia AGP 256MB DDR in it :)

For the Dual AthlonMP 2800+ I bought an Audigy2 ZS for 45 Eur this year :)
