Aeragon SMP 2016, Goldie's New Blue Assernal xD Quantum Speed GOOO!

• Hey all :)

Here something different from me for a change, as most know I mainly build Dual Opterons, but after I got a pm from jamese101, something I am extremely thankful for , even I wish I could do something back in regards...

He wanted to gift me his ASUS Z9PE-D8 WS Mobo + 2x 4C/8T Intel Xeon E5-2637-v2 Ivy-Bridge EP Engineering Sample CPU's & 8x 2GB DDR3-2133 Kingston Hyper-X Genesis memory, as a gift for all I have done here just because I deserved it, well if there is anything Ican do in return please let me know bud :)

So here the specs of the system as I plan to build it with the parts I have so far :)

At first I wanted to upgrade one on my servers, but since that would be too much of a hassle this will be a new build from me instead, giving jamese101's gear a well deserved home :)
It's purpose? well I hope to use it for Star Citizen with 2x TITAN X Pascal or 2x AMD RX 490X Vega, anyways something in that direction for sure.
It will also be used as test system to test varied VGA cards, on how they will perform in such an interesting system configuration, which is very new to me, due to that this is my first Dual Intel system since January 28, 2000, aka Gradinko SMP 2000 in my sig :D

So this is like building a Dual Pentium 3 all over again just much newer and improved tech... I even wonder of the base of these CPU's still use the P3's base design, that would be cool right.

Anyways here the photo's to begin with:

• Apparently he was given the parts (Board, CPUs, RAM) as a gift. So in this case I personally wouldn't be concerned about drifting away from AMD.

What does concern me is more and more people here are getting into multi cpu platforms and I'm still rendering VFX heavy scenes on a 4/8 Sandy Bridge and 16GB RAM laptop :topmodel:
Waiting for ZEN and Vega 10 Pro ;)

Voodoo-Kiste (seit 3dfx BayernLAN 2007):
TUSL2-C, P3-S 1400, 512MB SDR, Voodoo 5 5500 AGP, 9,1GB IBM SCSI (OS), 40GB HDD (Games), Adaptec 2940-U2W SCSI
Dualatin: GA-6VTXD, 2x P3-S 1400, 1GB SDR, 2x 60GB, Hercules Radeon 8500 128MB

Work (CG): MSI TRX40 Creator, AMD TR 3970X, 128GB RAM, Titan RTX 24GB, Win10Pro

Zock & Office: MSI X58 Pro-E, Xeon X5680 4,2GHz, 24GB RAM, RX590 8GB, KDE Neon

• You tell me... I was bleeding a little bit on the inside when I saw Thomsens' 20-core 200W Xeon, I need something like that for video transcoding, dammit! Or better even two of them! :topmodel: I could totally do everything in H.265/HEVC with extreme settings if I had that kind of hardware... ;) Even those 8-core Xeons shown here would do me a looot of good. 8)

So, you have my envy my friend! :P

PS.: It's probably not meant for "mission critical" applications or anything, but I'd probably still go for ECC memory with that thing. That's one thing I regret my machine can't use.

Edit: Interesting case by the way.. I don't personally like windows, but the thing does have style, very clean, sleek design.

• It's 2x 4-core xeon, GAT ;)
Still a nice system! I also like the case a lot, never seen this before. Looks stylish but keeping a bit of the more simple look that I usually like concerning cases.

• Ah, sorry, looked at the wrong part of the sentence (8C/16T, which is the total), heh. ;) I'll admit, i was in a bit of a hurry then, so I only read half the post, and too fast as well.. ;) And I'd agree, a clean, simplistic look is best for computer cases!

• Aww thanks fore your kind comments dere doh, and yaaas I too want something completley different even being I have always beena Lian Li user, point is Lian Li does not have a case that fits and supports the EEB Motherboard format, as where Phanteks does o hey I'm cool weith that and it's never a bad thing to try something new and different, even it was hard to find a case for my liking, it's that finding a case that suits your pricing, needs and looks is the hardest part when doing a new build, but I am glad I found this perfect solution for this new setup.
it's only 151 Euro which is a very nice price too :)

It's 2x 4-core xeon, GAT ;)
Still a nice system! I also like the case a lot, never seen this before. Looks stylish but keeping a bit of the more simple look that I usually like concerning cases.

Yeah as GAT said I got this as a gift ya know, normally I was saving up for a Dual Opteron ZEN System, but I was given this because I kept 2CPU.copm active , alive and well posted since May 08 2001 and also because of this reason as my friend jamse101 told me via PM:

"And for the question why you? After reading your posts I just think that if anyone on this forum deserves it, it is you."

I even asked him if he was sure and all, I mean this stuff isn't that old either he can still get a good grab of money from it, He was like nah you deserve it more than anyone else .. I was like wow 8| Really xD :topmodel:
So yeah a new build this will be then :)

At the moment my CLUBNET Network setup looks like this:

Without Flash:
http://abload.de/img/clubnetnightshot9ls22.png

With Flash:
http://abload.de/img/clubnetflashshotmcs0f.png

From the Dark Side:
http://abload.de/img/clubnet2016darkside6ajol.png

And from the Light:
http://abload.de/img/clubnet2016lightsides9jld.png

And this is what is going to happen, as you'd be thinking how the hell will you add a 4th workstation between all that xD

Simple my printer will go on a mini table under the desk and the middle system aka Firefox SMP 2006 will stand on that spot.
Aeragon SMP 2016 will stand on the spot Firefox is on now, then I need an A-B Switch for my Mnitor Speakers &Keyboard + Mouse, so I can switch between the two :D

Making the final setup from left to right:

Blue-Leader SMP 2009
Dual 6 Core AMD OpteronDP 2435 D0 12 Cores / 12 Threads @ 2.6Ghz 2x 6MB L3

Aeragon SMP 2016:
Dual 4 Core Intel XeonDP E5-2647-v2 ES 8 Cores / 16 Threads @ 3.5Ghz Base / 3.8Ghz Turbo, 2x 15MB

Firefox SMP 2006:
Dual 2 Core AMD OpteronDP 285 E6 OST 4 Cores / 4 Threads @ 2.6Ghz, 2x 2MB L2

Valkyrie SMP 2014:
Dual 12 Core AMD OpteronMP 6180 SE D1 24 Cores / 24 Threads @ 2.5Ghzm 2x 12MB L3

Why? For Science ! :spitze: that's why xD
I..I mean it should be possible right :topmodel:

• It seems I have to cancel this project mainly due to funding issues and a passed away GPU, I am going to sell the parts, due to my situation from last nights crappy adventure my R9 290X died, horizontal lines on the right side of the scree, I need to save up for a Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 480 8GB Nitro something I can afford, good enough for Primal Carnage Extinction & Fallout 4 @ 1920 x 1200, that is all I play.

Anyways just you all know of my situation.

• Ouch... So you'll have to give the case away as well? Because it looks pretty cool, would be nice if you'd keep it and re-use it later on for something else..

Well I still have everything because ift felt wrong to sell it I mean I got it as a gift and selling a gift is plain wrong, I am going to hang on to it until I can afford it :)
So my bad for posting that I will sell it, I should of thought twice but as usual I tend to make a lot of failures, luckily I didn't sell it yet.

But since my 290X died i bought a Sapphire Nitro RX 480 8GB, but this in an other thread :)

• Ah yeah, already saw the 480! :)

Frankly, I thought you just got resale "permission" from the guy who gave the hardware to you..

Good to hear you're keeping it though! :)

Well he didn't react to me and it's been like one month and to be ho0nest I prefer to sell it since I can not afford building up an other computer like this so I May just sell it since either I am getting ignored he he can't even bother to reply, due to my Autism I don't like having this feeling of doubt, I wish he would reply to me so I know where I am at... I hate it when people take ages like more than a month to reply back to me for such a simple question, it;s just annoying as f... :cursing::steinigung:

But I guess you know what I mean right..

• Hm.. A month is a bit much. You never know though. At times (even if those might be rare) I'd be unreachable for about a month as well. It was almost like that when I was in China for example.. But yeah, I get the feeling. Waiting for >1 month for a reply can get tedious.

However, this is the person who gave you a ton of stuff for free, right? I've never given anyone *THAT* much for free, so I guess that alone should justify a few months of waiting time?!

Just my 2¢.

• Power usage isn't much tbh they hhave Server CPU's and the price is all in, and no I don;'t always have all running just that one day I do backups and updates etc maintenance for the rest they do fine :) the Dual 12 Core system runs 24/7 for server :)
