Aber einen Prototypen würd ich gerne sehen.

Habe schon vor Jahren danach gesucht, aber Fehlanzeige.

Ich würd mal auf vogons fragen

Ahh yes I have a photo opf the real card , this is the ultimate ATi Unicorn of all ATi based graphics cards, here it pictured with a V5 PCI:

Each ATi R100 VPU has 64MB 128Bit SG DDR, just for those wondering.
The Radeon DDR MAXX was made in year 2000 during week 17, as it's PCB Date clearly shows as it reads 0017.
Just like the ATi Rage Fury MAXX, these cards use three Bios chips one per R100 VPU and a 3rd one to make it all work together, talk about being complex, this may also explain that the Rage Fury MAXX was a pain to work on as drivers went, even so they did surprisingly well.

As for the photo (the one with the V5 PCI) I had that photo for well over 20 years now, the owner is a guy from China, so don't be too surprised with that.
The Radeon DDR MAXX never was launched either it remained an Engineering Sample that never saw daylight.
The Dual Head function would work in the sense of the main output would be driven by the main R100 VPU and the secondary via the slave R100 VPU, the Rage Fury MAXX prototype also featured a Dual head option, you could mod your Rage Fury MAXX with a secondary VGA, the Bios for these card would automatically detect the secondary VGA, it can be done , maybe something for Backfire to look in to?

In this article by Tom's hardware is a photo shown of the ATi rage Fury MAXX DH Engineering Sample, which also has three Bios sockets, with the Primary and Tertiary socked filled and the secondary Bios socked for the slave Rage 128 chip left empty, traces that bridge the connection between both VGA's can also be seen on the PCB!

The ViVo card is a fake btw, that is just a poorly made photoshop of a Radeon 8500 hehe, it happens I knew this since 2003 when that photo dove up.

Es muss ja Prototypen geben, ansonsten hätten die wohl kaum AGP 4x Stress identifizieren können.

Die TechPowerUp GPU Datenbank (hatte ich anderorts schon erwähnt) ist eine großartige Informationsquelle bei neueren Karten. Je älter die Karten, desto unschärfer und inkonsistenter werden die Informationen, bis hin zu gravierenden Fehlern. Ich denke so halbwegs verläßlich dürfte es so ca. ab Fermi werden, aber ohne Gewähr.

Fermi war die berühmt-berüchtigte "Hitzkopf" Architektur die der GeForce GTX 480 zugrunde lag, davon hatte ich Mal ein SLI-System mit zwei Karten. Einen etwas effizienteren Nachfolger gab es mit der GeForce GTX 580, von der ich zwei EVGA GTX 580 3GB Classified Ultras mit Backplate besaß, eine heute eher seltene Karte mit riesigem 12-Phasen VRM, konzipiert für bis zu 1000 Watt Verbrauch und LN2 Weltrekordversuche (Damals gab es auf Grafikkarten noch keine Leistungsbegrenzer!). Eine der beiden habe ich noch.

Die "Ferni" GeForce GTX 480 ist im März des Jahrs 2010 auf den Markt gekommen. Meine hatte ich etwas vor dem Release im Westen, weil ich damals zwei Karten aus Hong Kong importiert hatte.

Und: Nur weil TechPowerUp alt ist, heißt das noch lange nicht, daß immer gründlich recherchiert und gearbeitet wurde. Ihre GPU Datenbank haben sie - soweit ich es in Erfahrung bringen konnte - 2011 released.

Zur Radeon DDR MAXX: Gibt es für diesen Prototyp überhaupt funktionierende Treiber?

From what I know there is a driver for the Radeon MAXX, it could also be that the Rage Fury MAXX driver kit could work with it or the Radeon DDR drivers, if I had the card I'd happily try it out, this is something I wish the owners of these cards would try and publish, so we can benefit from that knowledge as out interests would go, for odd reasons these owners are always hiding and not willing to really give out such details even that none of these cards ever saw daylight, it would be nice to know more about them in general...

Ah well what can ya do about it, eh.

As for Fermi I have a pair of GF100-375-A1's by EVGA, it's for my EVGA Tribute project:






The GeForce GTX 480 was the most interesting NVIDIA card of all time, especially it's development.
