hey all
I still have my first high end gaming laptop from 2004 which is this one:
Yoda 2004
Intel Pentium4 HT Prescott @ 3.40Ghz + 1MB L2 Cache 800Mhz FSB
2x 1GB PC-3200 Kingston Hyper-X (was 2x 512MB PC-3200 Infineon before upgrade as pics indicate)
Intel 865PE Chipset
ATi M18 Mobility Radeon 9800 AGP 256MB 256Bit DDRII
Realtek 2.1 HD Audio
100GB 4200 rpm Hitatchi HDD ( a 128GB SSD would be nice lol)
15/4" WUXGA glossless TFT panel max res; 1920x1200x32 @ 8ms.
Recommended res: 1280x800x32 @ 60Hz.
it is armed with the R420M VPU, which has these specs:
8x Pixel Pipes
8x Pixel Shaders
8x ROPS & 4Vertex Shader Units
4:1 Texture Compression
Same tech as the ATi Radeon X800 XT/XT PE series of graphics cards from 2004
Pics are quite old but I stlll have the entire thing complete.
The pics show 1GB installed, this was before the ram upgrade I gave it in 2008, which was from2x 512MB PC-3200 Infineon to 2x 1GB PC-3200 Kingston Hyper-X.
it's well over 21 years old now, recapping the mainboard would be of need despite it's age, as for the fans can they be renewed? if so where?
CPU & VPU repasting would also be of need, basically a full inspection + recap/repair.
Unless anyone from VA has a better idea, my end goal is to make this my mobile retro gaming laptop.
friendly regards,
Gold Leader.
