Jooaaa AWE64 Gold was tha bomb of all sound cards man
Here is a view of a different sort the 3dfx card is from week 35 year 1999 as where the NVIDIA card is from week 49 year 2010 , which is 12 years and 14 weeks difference rofl, orsay 12 years and 3 and a half months, that being my theme for this hardware thread today:
http://www.3dfx.ch/gallery/d/45057-3/V31KCGTX580SC.jpg

Old and new beauty from both worlds, even when they lay 12 years and 14 weeks apaprt, makes me wonder what will we see within the next 12 years and 14 weeks
Yeah thanks
Slowly the pieces shall be added, after this I will obtain the Plextor 12x BR Re-Writer and a pair of Intel 3rd gen Postvile 120GB SSD's and from this point i will have to save up til the year's end for the CPU's and ram, all depending on what the Bulldozer Bios will support CPU and ram wise.
Ram wise being will it retain the PC3-10600 support it has now ir will PC3-12800 ECC Reg be supported as well? These are things I have to be certain of before undertaking them.
the amount of ram I do plan on getting will be 16x 4GB ECC Reg, and for now it's PC3-10600, but I am hoping that PC3-12800 will be supported, more ram speed is never a bad thing to have around.
Well better late than never, the EVGA GTX 580 SCE arrived today, so here some pics of it
The box contents and Firefox SMP 2011 in the background

Here a nice shot I took of the GTX 580 SCE with the box's reflection within the card's deep blue shroud
http://www.3dfx.ch/gallery/d/4499…10+with+box.jpg
here compared with my EVGA GTX 480

Rear view of their PCB's:
http://www.3dfx.ch/gallery/d/4502…80+SCE+rear.jpg
As you can see, not much has been changed to the PCB, okay them holes in the PCB have been removed, also the GPU of the GTX 580 is slightly smaller, but overall it seems that NVIDIA modified the PCB of the GTX 480 to make one for the GTX 580 as outcome as well.
Here a shot of all my 3 Fermi boards

Here a shot of all 3 showing their GeForce logo's

Tonight I will prepare the GTX 580 with it's rear heatsink which EVGA calls the geForce GTX 580 Backplate, but I will have to go to my parrent's place to mount it, since I don't have the correct Pozzyscrew drivers, otherwise I'll have to go to the ProVak in the morning and buy the correct ones there.
@ Obi
he just wrote, that it would be a pity if a Pentium 3 motherboard would take damage if i mod it to fit a 7800GS.
Well, Pentium 3 boards are 5 € articles, from there it would not be the great loss. But as i wrote, it wont work anyway. The greatest video card is and remains a 6800Ultra, anything newer has no chance to work.
Well to be honest I ra my 7950GT AGP 512MB in my ABiT VP6, and it did work btw.
All you need is a universal AGP x4 slot, and the 7950 GT AGP 512MB ran fine @ AGPx4 1.5V mode
the 6800 Ultra 6800 Ultra Extreme like X800XT PE / X850 XT PE are the fastest and best native AGP cards to use though.
here my Dual P3/EB with a XFX 6800 Ultra AGP 256MB hehe
http://www.3dfx.ch/gallery/d/4385…P+in+Action.jpg
Even so the 6800 Ultra is hevilly Bottlenecked by them P3 1000Mhz CPU's lol, you do get free FSAA and AF though, it runs dead stable too.
Here my AWE64 Gold's

These were the ebst sound cards ever made on the market during the 90's and still they produce the ebst midi ever heard on any soundcard, these also seem to be very Plug & Play, just install them in the PC and windows will auto detect them and use them like they should do, even without a simple driver!
They are gems to me nowadays and yes they both work fine, the CT4540 is the later and newer revision of the CT4390 btw, it was smaller and l cheaper to reproduce, hence it's smaller size.
The AWE64 Gold MKII was also planned, this one would of been like the Sound Blaster Live 256 Surround, with 4.1 Speak confic possibillity, although the AWE64 Gold MKII was dropped, since PCI bus was around the corner and there was already an AWE64-D PCI made, although extreme hard to find, this card was also very limitly produced, but if you have an AWE64-D , i'd consider yourself extremely lucky, then youcan wield the EMU-8000 Audio Processor in any new-gen system you can plug it in to.
Hmm I think I lost ya bud , could anyone please translate?
Hmm maybe I could help here, I have a Dual OpteronMP 850 CG with a PC Flashed 5500 PCI Mac, I could run some tests for you lads if needed to be.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare2 is still lots of fun, Black Ops on the otherhand truly dissapointed me, after all the issues it has, it is even claimed to be that Black Ops was not even complete when it hit the market rofl
Modern Warfare 2 is far better ballanced and it's maps just rock!
ahh oke, nicers !

Even when sellers state that I mail them and 9 of the 10 times I mostly succeed
They mostly state that to avoid fake bidders And if they really don't ship I have alot of contacts in USA that will get me to the item anyways, so as that goes seek up one of your American friends that has ebay and a paypal account to help you out, that is if you have any American allies
Shipping to: United States
Excludes: Alaska/Hawaii, US Protectorates, APO/FPO
every collector I know, just sends the seller an email and asks him iif he is willing to ship to the EU, I always done this and 9 of the 10 times I always seem to over ride the sellers mind
To be very honest it is really not hard to ask something via ebay's good messaging system, when you come to think of it right
So even if a sale states that , you shoudl always send the eseller an email and show him that you collect cards via an url that leads to your collection, hereby you justify the seller that you are a serious person, although Iwas hoping you'd allready know this. But okay, I have been collecting like this for years and it always worked out greatly.

Price isn't too bad if it's a working one

I wonder how the cooling solution will look like.
Nice case man, is that a GTX 465 or GTX 470? Since I can tel it's GTX 400, because of the GeForce GTX 400 series logo being used
GTX 400 series use this logo:
[Blockierte Grafik: http://www.3dfx.ch/gallery/d/4410…orce+Logo_s.jpg]
GTX 500 series use this one:
[Blockierte Grafik: http://www.abload.de/img/transluentgeforcelogo9hf7.jpg]
As for the cooling of the GTX 590, it seems it will be like the cooling used for the GTX 295 Single PCB, more similar to this:
[Blockierte Grafik: http://www.abload.de/img/geforce_gtx_295_single5p1s.jpg]
[Blockierte Grafik: http://www.abload.de/img/geforce_gtx_295_single1sql.jpg]
The placement of the heatsinks and fans will probably be similar to this layout:
[Blockierte Grafik: http://www.abload.de/img/geforce_gtx_295_single8r1v.jpg]
[Blockierte Grafik: http://www.abload.de/img/geforce_gtx_295_singlerr3b.jpg]
More pics of how layout of the card will be can be seen here, card shown there is a GTX 295 Single PCB:
