Hi all
Maybe just an idea, well it's morely a question to be honest, is it possible to send a multi PN? as being an important message to multiple people within your friends list for example?
If not is this possible to implent as update?
Might come in handy if something serious happns, just been thinking about it heh, I hoep I posted this in the right section hehe
p.s. some may have gotten my PN a few times, this is because I thought they might of not made it through as I have experimented by adding names of people to send it to hehe, just to let you know, the message is serious btw.

M99 is a tranquilizer Dexter uses to tranquilise his victims before he treats them haha, since this is mainly a build from 1999 I was like hey it's powered by a Voodoo3 3500C so that is where I got Avenger from, as being the 3dfx 355 Rasterizer is called the Avenger as code name went.
So hey I was like Yeah! that's it!
Avenger M99! w00t

Yeah thanks GAT
It did take me a good 4 hours, but yeah by using Recontec's Special Treatment, that is what gave it this ultra clean looking result

Thank you for all the replies everyone hehe, this was sure a fun thing to do, I went for the Voodoo3 3500C because I remembered VA Member Voodoo3's Golden Words, that the Avenger chip offers very good 2D/3D image quality over all other 3dfx video chip
hmm Yeah Iused top have one of those a Pioneer 16/40x DVD/CD Rom drives, it died a few years ago, ah well I more of the Plextor guy, I will try and salvage my old Plextor Plex-Writer PX12/10/32A CD-Rewriter instead, although I will try and add one of them Pioneer's they were pretty good as I can rmember:)
The reason why I went for the Voodoo3, was because of the Golden Fact VA Member Voodoo³ gave us all:
That the Avenger chips have superb 2D/3D filters, when compared towards from that of other 3dfx Video chips.
This is also why he used a Voodoo3 3500 TV AGP, as I have heardSo this is my little tribute to Voodoo³ himself, he shall never be forgotten, his spirit within the Force shall live on always

Hi all,
Well my secret project has been completed, I also made pics along the way so here is my 3dfx build, from a 11 year old setup I used in the past, the motherboard is the famous EPoX EP-BX3, I think some of you do remmeber this one all too well.the system is actually from 1998, although the mobo was replaced in 1999 wutha more upgraded version with Pentium !!! support
So here is how I began, By stripping the case to a steel frame, and by removing all the parts and cleaned them with numerous brushes and the vacume cleaner to suck away the dust and dirt, as you can see the parts look like new, including them capacitors on the 11 year old motherboard!
http://www.3dfx.ch/gallery/d/4357…ottom+right.JPG http://www.3dfx.ch/gallery/d/43585-1/EPoX+EP-BX3+rear.JPG http://www.3dfx.ch/gallery/d/4356…ystem+parts.JPGThen after this I laid the clean hardware parts on my glass top Table and filled a basin filled with hot water and mixed with Dreft, and I literally scrubbed every plastic and metal part clean, the system was so dusty that there were 3cm blankets of gray wool on some places, as being this system was never cleaned since Q3 2000, so you can imagine why I was coughing here and there hahaha
here some pics on how I began this job, to resrect this old king of 3D, one oof the pics shows a good idea of befor and after treatment:
http://www.3dfx.ch/gallery/d/43591-1/From+dirty+to+clean.JPG http://www.3dfx.ch/gallery/d/4359…eaned+parts.JPGHere is the entire case cleaned, this is after treatment, it used to be one mass of gray wool and piles of dust which looked like gray soil
http://www.3dfx.ch/gallery/d/4360…d+internals.JPG http://www.3dfx.ch/gallery/d/4360…+drive+bays.JPGHere is a stage when I just installed the CPU, Mobo ram, drives and needed cards
http://www.3dfx.ch/gallery/d/4361…ed+_+drives.JPG http://www.3dfx.ch/gallery/d/4361…_s+contents.JPGPSU installed, an A-Open 350 Watter btw, + cables tie-wrapped for a neat look and better airflow, later pics show that some of the hull plating has been placed:
http://www.3dfx.ch/gallery/d/4362…Tie+Wrapped.JPG http://www.3dfx.ch/gallery/d/4361…s+completed.JPG http://www.3dfx.ch/gallery/d/4362…n+coverings.JPGHere the system nears completion during the final construction stages:
http://www.3dfx.ch/gallery/d/4360…kplate+view.JPG http://www.3dfx.ch/gallery/d/4359…+Y-Wing+Art.JPG http://www.3dfx.ch/gallery/d/4360…ointter+art.JPGAnyways more to come soon, on how this thing performs, I plan to go for Win 98 SE USA + Un-Official Service Pack 3.0, since this system is typically made for such an OS.
System specs are the following:
Avenger M99
Intel Pentium !!!/E 650Mhz Coppermine S.E.C.C. 2 / Slot 1
3x 128MB PC-100 CL3 Hyundai / Samsung
EPoX EP-BX3 Intel BX440 Chipset
3dfx Voodoo3 3500C AGP 16MB + TV-Out Rev.A 2100
Intel Pro 100/S Desktop Adapter
Philips FM/AM Radio Card 8Bit ISA
Creative Labs AWE64 Gold CT4390
1x Maxtor Diamond Max 9+ 40GB ATA 100Windows 98SE + UOSP 3.0a
AmigaMerlin 2.9 for V3-3500C -
Maxtor = Master of all problems , Seagate = Maxtor, so this would lead to the same utmost unreliabillity.
Western Digital = WIN, also the utmost reliable HDD brand in the world.

heyHutze
I votedfor the 640 GB Caviar Black, however I would recommend you taking 1TB RE4 24/7 series HDD for a raid array, these are made to last 3 years 24/7 without any HDD defect.
RE4 means Raid Edition4

Descent series beats everything imo It can really mix a person's mind, but for me it's fast action paced 6DoF, nothing has 360 degrees freedom like Descent does give, I have done alot of Descent 1,2 and 3 online matches and when meeting a pack of aces, well it makes any other FPS look as if they are nothing when competing with a Descent Anarchy Team play, or a Capturethe Flag event,Tri Chording with AFB's and then making kills along with it, heh, it's extremely FAST STUFF!
Here a vid, to give you an idea:DXX-Rebirth Anarchy [Deatmatch 1 on 1]

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-1qFTGSREk&feature=relatedSubway is a great level btw, games like the Descent series really all that Call of Duty nonsense isn't needed lol.

3dfx ougta return that would be all of our dreams I guess, but yeah, I think this topic is quite complete now
I thank everyone for their thoughts hehe, it's an odd ball I have for sure, I ran it in the Dual P3 haha them CPU's were kinda the bottleneck, the Dual OpteronMP 850 CG came much more to the card's rights how ever the HIS HD 3850 ICEQ3 Turbo AGP aka HIS HD 3870 AGP crushed it.
Anywyas it's problem which is well known with all geForce 6 and 7 series is that it can't combiine FSAA & HDR at once, it's either HDR + AF or FSAA + AF, the only cards of it's time that could combine FSAA + HDR + AF were ATi's X1000 series VGA's, like the X 1800 XT, X1900 XTX and X1950 XTX, and cheaper variant of these families.
So I found out that games like CoD4 MW, and CoDMW2 which I ran on the 7950 GT AGP were very sluggish, even when using HDR + AF this really stressed it, I could try HL2 Lost Coast one day see what that does, but I guess it will be on it's knee's again.

Oh well no matter what this card is, to me it's an Evaluation Kit as my contacts of EVGA and MSI told me, but it doesn't matter really, it's just another nice card added and sadly this was the last NVIDIA AGP made To be very honest they could of made an 8800 GT AGP, 9800 GT AGP and a GT 240 AGP for example, there is stillmarket room for AGP, especially in the 3rd world.
that ATi made a HD 3850 AGP and HD 4670 AGP is quite something but I guess they dropped AGP after HD 4670 AGP also, at least they did give AGP a longer life spann, it's at the least something right.
We need a 3rd player in high end VGA land and my bet would still be Matrox
