    Meine Snow White ist auch angekommen - aber in diesem Board läuft sie NICHT! HiNT wird nicht heiss aber es gibt immer NoVGA Beep beim Booten (unabhängig ob ich AGP 1x, 2x oder 4x im BIOS einstelle). GPU Power-Verbindung liefert auf allen 3 Leitungen 12V gegen alle 3 Masse-Kabel. Meine V5 5500 AGP läuft ohne Probleme...

    Kann man also zu der Liste "Inkompatibel, aber ungefährlich" hinzufügen....

    As my Snow White has arrived I tested my mainboard (see above) - it's not working (but it doesn't get hot either - so no harm). Just NoVGA Beeps (doesn't matter if AGP 1x, 2x or 4x is set in BIOS). GPU power connection working on all 3 connectors with 12V against all ground connectors. My V5 5500 AGP works like a charm...

    You can add this board to "incompatible, but not dangerous"

  • Quantum3D X-24 Lüfter / Cooling?

    Lotosdrache ich stimme dir völlig zu! Dann wäre ja eine Idee vielleicht einen Adapter zu entwerfen und zu drucken, der auf der einen Seite auf die beiden Kartenenden passt, 1-4 Lüfter (je nach Größe) aufnimmt und an der anderen Seite den Haltebügel hat… würde dann halt 2 Slots hoch werden, dafür aber viel effektiver und leiser….


    Wer ist denn hier im Forum ein 3D-Druckmeister?

  • Quantum3D X-24 Lüfter / Cooling?

    Hi,

    ich habe bei einem Sammler in den USA folgendes Bild der Quantum3D X-24 gefunden:

    Wie man sieht ist dort hinten an den Karten ein Lüfter montiert, der Wind zwischen die beiden Boards bläst. Da ich vor habe, meine X-24 bald auch mal wieder zu betreiben, aber uns Backfire immer vor der thermischen Belastung der TMUs warnt, wollte ich mal fragen, ob hier jemand eine Idee hat, wie man diese Art von Lüfter (verbessert) nachbauen könnte. Wegen mir könnte das auch ruhig 2 Slots in Anspruch nehmen (und nicht nur 1 Slot so wie hier), aber mit einem schönen 3Dfx-Lüfter sähe die Karte bestimmt gut aus - und hätte auch noch einen Haltebügel!

    Also alle mit 3D-Druckern, Laser-Schneidern usw. mal melden plz...

    I found a picture of the Quantum3D X-24 with a collector in the USA at Facebook. The cards have a fan mounted at the back incl. mounting brackets. As I would like to use my X-24 soon again, but Backfire always warns us about the thermal stress of the TMUs I would like to ask if anyone has an idea how you could create such a fan (maybe even more efficient). For me a 2 slot resolution would be no problem (not only 1 slot as seen here), but I think it would look beautiful with a nice 3Dfx fan at the back - and the cards would get a mounting bracket!

    Ich hätte da auch noch eine Frage, bevor meine Snow White ankommt: kann ich sie in meinem ASUS CUV4X-D (2x Tualatin 1.4GHz, FSB 133MHz, VIA Apollo Pro 133A, NB: VT82C694XDP, SB: VT82C686B, AGP Pro 4x, BIOS: 1x/2x/4x selectable) betreiben? Die V5 5500 AGP läuft schon Jahre ohne Probleme. Sollte ich im BIOS AGP 2x auswählen oder kann das auf 4x bleiben und das Mainboard / die Snow White machen automatisch dann nur 2x? Ich frage deshalb, da in der INKOMPATIBEL-Liste 2 ASUS Mainboards sind, die von der Bezeichnung her sehr ähnlich sind: TUV4X (VIA VT82C694T) und CUBX-L (Intel BX).

  • [Umfrage] S.U.X. 6000 / Snow White Lüftersteuerung / Temp.-Überwachung?

    Hallo liebes Forum!

    Da meine Snow White von Anthony auf dem Weg zu mir ist, und ich die Horror-Story der Snow White von 1986richie gelesen habe, ist mir wieder etwas eingefallen:

    Backfire unser "Löt-Opa" hat doch vor einiger Zeit eine VSA-100 Lüftersteuerung entworfen. Aufgrund diverser Preis-Erhöhungen lägen die heutigen Kosten bei einer Kleinserie von 5 Stück bei etwa 400,- EUR. Ist schon heftig, aber bei 1500,- EUR für die S.U.X. oder Snow White nur knapp 1/4 des Preises der Karte. Eines der teuersten Teile dabei ist die Frontplatte. Jetzt habe ich die schöne Backplate des V2-Coolingpack von Nilpferd gesehen und mir folgendes gedacht:

    1.) wenn sich genug Leute zusammenfinden, würde Backfire eine neue Kleinserie auflegen (hat er versprochen :hre:)

    2.) man könnte vielleicht die Kosten drücken, wenn man als Frontplatte etwas ähnliches produziert wie beim Coolingpack, angepasst auf S.U.X. oder Snow White - in entsprechenden Farben - oder vielleicht ist sowas auch als 3D-Druck möglich?

    3.) statt einer Lüftersteuerung könnte es auch nur eine Temperatur-Überwachung werden (vielleicht inkl. Alarmsound und LED?) um sich die Regel-Elektronik zu sparen

    4.) man könnte die Optionen für 1/2 Chips weglassen, dafür vielleicht eine 5. Option für den HINT-Chip hinzufügen?

    Also alles in allem vielleicht eine individuelle, zur Karte passende (günstigere) Temperatur-Überwachung (inkl. HINT) mit cooler Frontplatte...?

  • HILFE: V5 6000 Schneewittchen gibt kein Signal mehr

    Oh, das ist ja gar nicht schön zu hören! Meine Karte geht morgen auf den Weg (inkl. einer Lost Joker 2) - ich hoffe das das kein systemischer Fehler ist sondern nur ein Einzelfall. Gibt es denn schon Erkenntnisse, ob die Snow White ebenfalls so bitchy mit Mainboards ist wie die originale V56K? Es ist ja zumindest ein anderer Brückenchip wenn mich nicht alles täuscht....
