Mercury is touchy about CPU speed, it will not function around 650-700 mhz.
exxe hast du die mercury bei ebay ersteigert? wenn ja, viel Glück. weil sie wird wohl nicht funktionieren...

Some GX boards support up to 1.0 ghz (10 x 100 mhz)
Me- I have had bad dealings with seller, check their feedback.
It states "cannot test items for sale" this is a lie as the seller owns system with running Mercury at one time.

naja vielleicht funktioniert sie ja doch.
aber du brauchst auf jedenfall die spezielle Hardware... und den Monitoranschluss musst du selbst basteln... oder eine Mercury I/O Karte finden...

The correct mainboard is GX+ from Intel, I have run green bricks in BX with no problem. I have not yet had black brick that functions so cannot say if it will work in BX or not.
I have a couple of extra AAlchemy "CAP" modules and several riser cards. I should test them to see if they are good.

BTW were there also Q3D Merc systems with SMP aka Dual CPU and Quad CPU?

1) The black brick is defective and will not run in Mercury configuration. The problems are in the boards themselves as the cap card and riser cards have already been swapped out with known good pieces.
2) My Mercury system has a green brick that works fine and has been running for months. In general Mercurys are no faster then a V2 SLI setup, but they have Rotated Grid Anti Aliasing while rendering.
3) Mercury was never advertised as being available with quad cpu's, just dual 550's on a GX+ motherboard.
