Nur was Speicherbandbreite oder Füllraten abgeht. Der Benchmark ist 0 CPU intensiv. Da kannst auch nen AMD Phenom oder Core2 drauf loslassen.

Solange du dem Mainstream "ich habe zu wenig Vram" Geheule nicht hinterher läufst, bist du mit deiner Maxwell 2.0 GPU bestens bedient.
Deine GPU unterstützt DX 12_1 und moderne Engines wie UE5 haben in der Regel ein DX11 Fallback womit Mesh Shader etc. keine Anwendung finden.
Persönlich hätte ich für das Budget letztes Jahr bis 100€ entweder eine GTX1080 oder Vega 64 gekauft. Deine 980Ti für 60€ ist aber trotzdem super.
In meinen Desktop Rechnern werkeln ne RTXA400, Quadro P1000 V2 und eine Intel Arc 750LE.
Bin mit allen Karten zufrieden. Neuere Spiele wie Alan Wake 2 oder Alone in the DARK spiele ich entspannt auf der Series S.

Meine Mutti gehört jetzt offiziell dem Retro Hardware Hobby an.
Sie hat jetzt neben ihrem HP Slimlime Ryzen irgendwas PC mit Windows 11, ein ThinkPad zum zocken.
Ein T30 mit Intel Pentium 4 mobile 2.0ghz und einer Radeon 7500, garniert mit Windows XP.
Darauf spielt sie aktuell Die Sims, Moorhuhn Jagd und TV Total Pulleralarm.
Mein Vater sucht gerade zum Anlass seine NFS III CD-ROM.
Ich hatte einfach kein Bock mehr mich darum zu kümmern, dass ihre Spiele irgendwie auf dem Ryzen PC laufen, welcher nichtmal ein ODD hat.

LeChris Dieser Benchmark lässt mich die modernen GPU's besser gedanklich in Leistungsklassen einordnen. Ohne Schickimicki.
In Zeiten von "schlecht optimierten" Engines welche AMD oder Nvidia favorisieren, ist dieser Benchmark relativ konstant.
Ich selbst nutze den Benchmark um herauszufinden, ob eine GPU Füllraten oder Speicherbandbreiten limitiert ist. Damit ich beim übertakten weiß, welchen Regler ich nach rechts schieben kann und welchen nicht.

Ich glaube heute würde man das Fahrrad als Mountainbike mit etwas mehr Federweg einordnen.
Damals wars wirklich Bombe. Die Gabel vorn ist eine Marzocchi Bomber Junior T, also nichts wildes.
Leider ist diese ca. 2-4 Jahre zu Jung. Ne zeitlich passende Junior T, Monster T etc. habe ich bezahlbar nicht mehr auftreiben können. Und meine Suche hat vor 10 Jahren begonnen.

I never went this far.
I ended up with Athlon XP-M 2800+, KT600 and 6800 Back in the days. It was a quiet nice Bang for Bug Setup.
I switched to mobile Turion X2 and 8600GT-M after my Desktop hand no Chance for Upgrade.
Btw. I have some X850XT PE's AGP. R300 on steroids.

But my Leadtek Winfast 6800LE is quite nice. Good cooler and silent. And running a Vanilla 6800 BIOS.

The Vanilla FX5700 is a huge step forward.
I forgot the reason. I guess the 5700 had more Vertex Shader than the 5200/5600.
The 5700 is real cheap but the used Market is flooded by shitty 64Bit, XT and LE Versions.
The 5700 consumes less Power and you can be passive cooled.
I have some FX Cards.
My little favorit is a purple Palit FX 5200 (Pro/Ti) on a Ultra Kind PCB without Power Connecter.
Its has BGA Memory and much higher Memory Clocks than a normal 5200.
Even ZOTAC has 128Bit FX 5200 PCi. No garbage. A real fast PCI GPU with very good Performance for PCI Bus.

I still got my Pentium 4 Northwood 3.2, could be a nice build.
My Last FX build was a Shuttle XPC with Pentium 4 2.4 HT (yesss 2.4) and a passive OEM 256MB Leadtek 5200U.
Because i hate loud Computers in my age.
It run Doom3 fine but the GeForce needs faster TSOP Memory Modules for my prefered Resolution.
I know my passive Sapphire 9600XT Ultimate could do it much better, but hey its FX.

People were mad about Nvidia, because they killed 3dfx. Of course every nerd wondered about the GeForce (3D)FX Name. So i did.
I heard of tweaking the FX @550/1100. That was the wall. But at the time Nobody really Cares. Even in Plattforms like Kaltmacher.de
Because the Radeon 9700Pro was the Force. There was nothing to put against this.
Most people and some magazins know nothing about CPU Limits. (Stupid, think of Voodoo2 SLI)
The Radeon was not only faster in AA. The Radeon couldn't reach Maximum Performance because Northwood and T-Bred were just to slow.
So FX and AMD were Neck on Neck at lower Resolution.
My Radeon 9800 Pro pops out at araound 24-25K Points in 3D01. But it need the Power of top Line Athlon 64...
FX was faster in Idtech Engines but i guess the Problem were AMD Driver, CPU Overhead and slower CPUs. Still relevant in Modern Setups.
The Point is.
Voodoo2 and SLI were much to fast... Pentium II 300 or 350 couldn't maxed Out the Beast.
Same Situation with Radeon 9700. Athlon 2000+ or Pentium 2.4... weren't fast enough.

I really like the FX Series. I bought a Terratec Mystify FX 5800 brand new back in the days.
It was a heavy beast and remember the noisy Fan during 3D. But reach 500/1000Mhz without Problems. It was crazy.
I paired the Card with a Palomino 1900+ on a Budget K7S5A Pro.
The FX replaced my 64MB Radeon 9500 @ 8Pipes. Later the Radeon 9800SE replaced the FX because the Fan got on my nerves...

stimme marlon zu. Ab einem pentium 120 bis zum pentium 233 eine voodoo 1. vom pentium ii 266 pentium ii 500 eine voodoo 2, Voodoo 2 SLi bis 1 ghz. und ab da voodoo 3,4,5.
Es kommt echt auf das Spiel an. Unreal Tournament wird erst ab einem Athlon so richtig spielbar, da reicht sogar eine einzelne Voodoo 2. Aber es sollte die 12MB Version sein, der 8MB läuft der Texturspeicher voll.
Eine Voodoo 3 und 4 fühlt sich mit jedem Pentium III wohl.
Die Banshee ist mein persönlicher Favorit für den Pentium II.
CPU's mit schwacher FPU bis zum AMD K6-III laufen mit einer Voodoo 2 (SLi) etwas schneller als mit Voodoo 3 und neuer.
Ach und die Voodoo Rush ist für Pentium I auch prima, sofern 513*384 in Ordnung ist.
