Well I have proven factually with screenshots from my end on what I get when using Radeons, as being 100% disabled buying a VGA card isn't something I enjoy doing to be honest.
Especially when I keep getting crappy rendered images, when I Pay 400 + Euro for a GPU I want it to do everything without hassles, the R9 290X was 483 Euros the RX 480 was 280 Euro's and here's the worst the 290X died exactly 4 days after the warranty the RX 480 had fan issues my RMA was NOT accepted I had to sell the bloody thing for 220 euro's it' was all a major waste of money as I was not the only one having these graphical issues.
Here a big topic at Steam Community reguaring this particular issue that I was having:

An other upset falout4 player same rainbow texture issues:

Here more at Reddit:

That shows that I am not the only one it clearly seems.
So it may all be true what you are saying, but that does not solve the problem I was having, the EVGA GTX 1080 FTW2 I bought actually did solve my issues, I plan to use this card for at least an other 5 or 6 years as I did with the EVGA GTX 480's. (7 years for those)
Vega 64 wont solve my problems even after reading the reviews from Tom's hardware and Anandtech I wasn't too impressed tbh, the GTX 1080 even the GTX 1070 tend to kick it's ass big time Okay Vega 64 just released but still you would expect far better results also considering the amount of power it consumes compared to the 15:month old designs it has to confront and the prices it is selling.. that all should be much less, thus disappointing imo.
The HD5870 I sued was the one my dad gifted me after he replaced it with a R9 380X last year, I only used the HD 5870 to see if a non GCN based GPU would result the same issues and sadly it did.
AMD"s major successes are their Ryzen 3,5 7 & Threadripper CPU's and their server class EPYC CPU's.
These really rock the block, Vega is a nice add to their new releases, but it does not do what many have hoped fo,r even it just launched, many like myself expected much more.
This isn't a new Radeon 9700 Pro, i' feels more like a Radeon HD 6970 in some sense. it's great but don't expect too much from it.
It needs time to get a more mature driver package, I would give it about 2 to 3 months to really improve, then things might get more interesting also the 3rd party cooler designs from Sapphire, HIS, XFX Pine Group and others.
Vulkan API is the API we need as it's Multi OS friendly even so I don't see that happening since Microsoft is tampering it to shreads with their money power and marking actd with their DX12 which is far less developed than AMD Vulkan API in it's whole.
Vulkan should also replace OpenGL next, Vulkan is SMP limitless even of your system has 256 Cores each and every core will be used to their max potential, Star Citizen is one of very few games that have such support DOOM 2016 as well if memory serves well.
OpenGL Next only goes to 8 cores same as DX12 rather useless imo.
Vulkan could replace everything but sadly with thugs like MS around, that won't happen and most likely DX12 will still take the lead in the API market simply MS has the money to make such things happen.
After testing games like DOOM 2016, Descent Underground and Descent 1 & 2 with DXX-Rebirth 0.60 Beta 1 these games showed no issues what so ever on the HD 5870, R9 290X and RX 480 so I knew my cards were not defective.
It was a driver & game optimization issue it comes from both sides Bathesda & AMD that such things happen a shame tbh.
This is how NVIDIA also gets buyers to avoid such things, I just want my games to run I can't give a damn who has what tbh.
Thing is if my games don't render as they should do I won't support nor buy the hardware that causes such graphical defects, simple.
Each to their own what such things go to, but as reply to this topic's simple question:
RX Vega...anyone?
Is my simple Answer ->> Not yet.
